Hotel Security; what can we deliver
David Lawrence International understands the importance to protect the image and reputation of a hotel.
When considering the image that your hotel wishes to portray, it is essential to take into account the following considerations and threats;
Considerations;
• Hotel property, parking facilities, general deliveries, etc.
• Staff members, stop & search, theft, etc.
• Guests, visitors, functions, etc.
Threats;
- Terrorist attacks (e.g. Mumbai massacre)
- Armed robbery (due to the cash rich and accessible nature of hotels)
- Staff theft (the high staffing levels required by hotels make staff theft very difficult to control)
- Guest theft (this is becoming an increasingly popular security risk due to the high accessibility of all areas of hotels to guests)
Hotel security can be made up of the following sections/teams, each one as important as the other, while working together to achieve the overall goal of protecting all Assets;
- Perimeter Detail (e.g. mobile patrol, alarm response, key-point observation, staff checks, vehicle monitoring)
- Front House Detail (e.g. main public areas, reception, bars, restaurants, floors, fire-walks, floor-walks, evacuation and emergency procedures, customer service)
- CCTV Detail (e.g. monitoring vital access points, internal and external access points, liaising with the perimeter and front house teams in emergency situations)
- Close Protection Detail (when VIP guests are staying at your location these individuals will play a vital role in the movements of the VIP both inside and outside of the hotel, overseeing all transportation and liaising closely with the other three details to maintain the safety of the VIP at all times)
